Dr Amar Sharif graduated in 1997, Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London with Distinction in Medicine, Surgery and Clinical Pharmacology/Therapeutics and was awarded Dean’s Medal in Clinical Medicine, ED Blunt Prize in Clinical Medicine, Willliam Marsden Scholarship and Medal. His early medical training was at the prestigious Academic Department of Medicine, Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and North West London NHS Hospitals. As a Specialist Registrar, he trained on the North West Thames rotation, working at St. Mary’s, Hammersmith, Chelsea and Westminster and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
In 2007 he was awarded MD research degree at Imperial College London, Hammersmith Campus and has published work in genetic and molecular aspects of bile duct cancers.
He currently works as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician at London NorthWest Healthcare Trust and Hepatology Lead and Director of Clinical Studies. He is a committee member BSG Liver Group.
